RoundCon 2011 - Gaming Track

RoundCon always aims to provide diverse and engaging array of games for members. Below you'll find details on how the gaming track for RoundCon 2011 breaks down. Please keep in mind that programming will change as the convention appraoches. If you are interested in running a game for us please register your RPG in the Members Center or contact us.

Retro Gaming Track
Roundcon has seen a lot of gaming history during its 25 years of life. Games today are nothing like they were when the convention first opened its doors. Wouldn't it be interesting to play some of those games? Games that you may have only heard hushed whispers about but never had the chance to participate.

Now you can! RoundCon 2011 introduces its Retro Gaming Track. An entire series of game events using the oldest role-playing systems we can find. Everything from Star Frontiers, Top Secret, Boot Hill, and 1st Edition D&D will be played through out the convention.

Indie Gaming Track
It is no secret that your friendly neighborhood con director loves indie movies. There is something refreshing about how they can take risks in the story direction no major studio would. The same can be said for Indie Game Publishers. Over the years, RoundCon has seen a lot of exceptional Indie role-playing games run.

RoundCon 2011 is proud to host its first full Indie Game Track. RoundCon will be looking for self-published authors to run examples of their system at RoundCon. The staff at RoundCon will be happy to showcase your work by advertising your system on its website. If you have designed a role-playing game or even a board game please contact us as soon as possible to sign up.

Living Forgotten Realms
RoundCon will continue its tradtion of hosting RPGA events. Living Forgotten Realms is a massive shared-world campaign. Create your character, assign them to one Toril's varied lands, and join in the fun! Earn experience points, gold, and magic items that remain with you from game to game! With dozens of unique adventures each year, Living Forgotten Realms brings you a unique and powerful role-playing experience.

Shadowrun Missions
Shadowrun Missions (SRM) is the official dynamic sixth world campaign setting sponsored by Catalyst Game Labs. In SRM, players create a character and participate in sanctioned events throughout the world. This gives players the unique opportunity to play a Shadowrun character of their own design with different people and different perspectives, and affect the storyline of the campaign.

RoundCon SRM GMs maintain a stock of pre-generated characters. While this is not the the norm, it does allow those who are curious about the game to be able to participate. RoundCon recommends that players still bring their own characters to the events.

War & Board Gaming
War games will include Warhammer 40k, Firestorm Armada, Malifaux, and other miniature games. Information on war gaming tournaments will be made available on the gaming page.

RoundCon will again have a Board Gaming Extravaganza hosted by SCARAB.

Catan Championship Qualifier Tournament
RoundCon 2011 will be host to a Catan Championship qualifying tournament. Do you think you have what it takes to to go the top in one of the most beloved board games in the world? Click the link above for tournament rules.

Wits and Wagers will be Saturday 6PM in the Event Room.

Game Track for Kids
Join us as we explore several role-playing games suitable for children. Games are a vital part of a child's development. Great men such as HG Well used to play adventure games with his children. Should we not follow in his footsteps?

Together we will explore many settings where the players take the roles of animals, fairy tales, and adventure. These games are geared for children age 6 - 10. They are excellent for introducing young players to the hobby.
