Some panels and events may contain content of a strong adult nature including sexual content, graphic violence, or other content inappropriate for minors. Costume Contest
RoundCon 2011 will host its first annual MC'd costume contest! Any skill level is welcome and all costume themes are accepted. Prizes will be awarded for Novice, Amateur, and Professional levels.
- All entrants must be registered for the con on the day of the contest.
No badge = no entry.
- This contest is open to all costumes, anime or otherwise. Variety is the spice of life!
- All costumes must be family friendly. Anything overly suggestive will be barred from the contest. If you’re not sure if your costume is acceptable, you can email Morgan at morganskye@gmail.com
- There are four categories. Youth, Novice, Journeyman, and Craftsman.
- Youth is for everyone 13 and under with parent/guardian permission.
- Novice: Entrant has won no major awards.
- Journeyman: Entrant has won four or fewer major awards.
- Craftsman: Entrant has won five or more awards.
- Awards will be given in each category as well as a Best Performance and Best in Show. These awards may change at any time without warning.
- There is no rule #6. Please don't ask as the story embarrasses the other rules.
- The contest coordinator reserves the right to move anyone into another category as they see fit so long as there is a valid reason. You have the right to request a second opinion if you feel that you don't belong in your new category should you be moved.
- Purchased and professionally made costumes are ineligible for craftsmanship judging HOWEVER they may be used in a skit for Best Performance.
- There will be a check-in before the contest. The location and time will be listed with the sign-up sheet. If you are late then you are out!!
- Reference pictures of your costume are not required but they are highly recommended. Pictures of your work-in-progress are also valued!
- Any improper skits, profanity, actions, or otherwise bad behavior will have you bounced faster than you can say dodgeball.
- Roundcon staff reserves the right to change these rules, the awards, their associated prizes (should there be any), and their socks when ever necessary.
In summary – Show up on time, don't be dirty, don't be a jerk.
